| Well it's official the Grammy people have spoken..It's obvious that the crack problem has gotten way out of hand. Here is a list of the nominations with respect to Hip Hop...
In The Best Rap Solo performance we have:
Busta Rhymes- "Gimme Some More"
Eminem- "My Name Is"
Q-Tip-"Vivrant Thing"
Will Smith – "Wild Wild West"
2 Pac-"Changes
Now I'm not trying to cry over spilled milk, but where the hell was Mos Def and his cut 'Ms Fat Booty'? Where was Pharoahe Monch and his track 'Simon Says'. Of course we can't forget the Beatnuts 'Watch Out Now'. How could they leave out Puffy..? What was wrong with PE 2000? And I guess the Grammy's never heard of 50 Cent's 'How To Rob'.. That was straight butta.. Damn even Jay-Z and Ja Rule should've been down with their respective cuts.. 'Jigga' and 'Holla Holla'. I'm floored they didn't put down the 1999 Summer Anthem by Juvenile 'Back That Azz Up'.
The Best Rap Performance By A Duo or Group:
Busta Rhymes Featuring Janet Jackson-"What's It Gonna Be?!"
Puff Daddy Featuring R. Kelly –"Satisfy You"
Dr. Dre Featuring Snoop Dogg –"Still D.R.E."
Eminem & Dr. Dre –"Guilty Conscience"
The Roots Featuring Erykah Badu –"You Got Me"
Here the only song that makes sense is 'Still Dre' featuring Dre and Snoop.Nas and Puff threw down with the 'Hate Me Now' What happened they didn't put down Ole Dirty Bastrad and Kelis with 'Girl I Got Your Money'? 'Rap Life' with Tash and Raekwon was on hit... Who can front on 'Bling Bling' by BG and his click.. Also lets not forget Ice Cube and Mack 10 with 'You can Do It'.. And what were the Grammy people smoking that they forgot 'Quiet Storm with Mobb Deep'? Aren't they a duo.. And the song of the year as far as I'm concerned was 'B-Please' by Snoop and Xzibit. They turned out the Source Awards..
Best Rap Album
Busta Rhymes- E.L.E.
Missy Elliot- Da Real World
Eminem- The Slim Shady LP
Nas- I Am
The Roots- Things Fall Apart
Ok I won't front.. Eminem, Nas and The Roots belong up here, but Missy? Come on now..folks are tripping.. Can we say 'Black Out' by Red and Meth? Can we say "Black on Both Sides' by Mos Def? The album of the year is now doubt 'Dr Dre 2001' by Dr Dre..How they gonna hold the Grammy's in LA and not put down the good Dr in his home town. Snoop's album was on hit and what about Puffy?
